「色水の折り目」或いは絵画空間の探求者

 

シンプルな構図、冷徹な筆致、明瞭な立体感を映し出す陰影のモノトーン、 そしてそれらの相乗効果から得体の知れない存在感を漂わせる絵画作品。

mm projectでは、そのような絵画作品を生み出す米倉大五郎による個展『FOLDS of PAINT - 色水の折り目 -』を開催致します。

 

彼独特の絵画空間は、鏡面状に研磨したパネルの上に、アクリル絵具を垂らして、絵筆に見立てたシリコンシート(又は​ppシート)を使って、 絵具を素早く塗り込み、折り返すようにして描いた形象から生み出されています。その筆致は(ほぼ)一筆書きで瞬く間に描かれることから、水墨画や書道の表現に類似しています。さらに、もう一つ別の観点から重要な指摘をしておきます。それは、彼の表現手法が「折り紙」にも似ていることです。「折り紙」は色面を線にそって折ることで立体を形成しますが、対して彼の作品は、絵具(色水)を曲線状に折り込むように運筆させて立体感を伴う描写を形成しています。換言すれば、固体の色紙(いろがみ)が 液体の色水(絵具)に置き換えられた作品とも言えるでしょう。このように、彼独自の表現手法は、彼特有の絵画空間を生み出しています。

 

ここで一旦視点を変えて絵画の歴史を振り返れば(例えばルネサンスの遠近法や江戸時代の浮世絵から現代へと思いを巡らせれば)絵画史が絵画 空間への探求と方法論の更新による歴史であることへと思い至る筈です。 絵画空間への探求。それは、探検家が未踏の地平を、或いは数学者が未知の数式を、また或いは物理学者が未知の宇宙像を追い求めることに似ています。米倉大五郎はそんな探求者の一人なのです。 

 

This is the paintings that have an incomparable presence from the synergy between the simple composition, severe brush stroke and grey tone that give the clear three-dimension.

 

mm project is pleased to present an exhibition of such works by Daigoro Yonekura “ Folds of Paint”

 

His distinctive painting was created by filling an acrylic paint onto a polished panel as a mirror. With draw a folded shape back and forth using silicone sheet as a paint blush, it is similar to an ink painting or calligraphy expression cause of the way of creation by instantaneously almost a single stroke.

 

In other way it is similar method of technique he use is “Origami”. Origami creates a form by holding along a line, his work was created by using paint fluidity to make a three dimension drawing. In his painting, solid (origami, solid color paper)was replaced by liquid(paint). His new works are very simple but unique, these reflects his own painting world.

 

When you change the point of view and look back on the history of painting (for example, by thinking from the Renaissance perspective or the Ukiyo-e in the Edo period to the present) , the history of painting is the history of exploring space and updating methodology.

 

Exploring painting space, this is such a similar to the explore look for unexplored horizons, a mathematics is for unknown formulas or an even physicist pursuing an unknown space image.

Daigoro Yonekura is one of such a explore and the artist.
